My father owned Solomons Pharmacy until it closed in the early 1980s and SCAD took over the space. My family was close to the Solomons family. They transitioned into the wholesale drug business and sold the retail operations. I spent much of my childhood in that space and in Madison Square. Interestingly enough, my name (which is my middle name as was my father’s) is Griffin. It actually has nothing to the name of the restaurant which was named after the decorations in the space.
